Prepare for Transfer to American Universities
Green River College's Intensive English Program (IEP) helps prepare international students to study at American colleges and universities. The IEP offers small classes and personal attention from highly qualified instructors.
Meet Faculty & Staff
Our Intensive English faculty are highly qualified with Masters degrees and years of teaching experience. They speak other languages and are familiar with different cultures. Most importantly, they love teaching and helping students achieve their dreams. Check out our Faculty and Staff Bios
Please note: We are continuing to offer all our IEP all classes virtually and online during COVID-19.
Our IEP teachers are offering a mixture of the following:
- Live zoom class sessions and office hours that are spread out during the week
- Recorded lessons that students can review repeatedly
- Assignments with feedback where students can communicate with their teachers
- Class interactions via discussion boards
- Group discussions and assignments in zoom breakout rooms
Our IEP Advisor, is available "live" in her virtual advising room for six hours every day, and she regularly checks-in with individual students for one-on-one meetings.
We also offer free additional online resources for self-study after class as well as study hall with free tutoring.

Transferred to:UC Berkeley BS, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine
“After studying English (IEP) at Green River for a year, I then studied another 2 years in the academic program. In 2013, I transferred to UC Berkeley. I am now pursuing further education at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the #1 School of veterinary medicine in the world. I cannot describe how much I appreciate Green River College. I would not have been able to make it this far without my time at GRC.”
