Intensive English: Levels 1 - 3

Intensive English: Levels 1,2, and 3

Active English

New Intensive English Program (IEP) students are tested and placed into the appropriate level using a reliable diagnostic test that evaluates the students' skills in listening, reading, vocabulary, writing, and grammar.

What to expect:

In levels 1, 2 or 3, you will have a lot of fun while learning English. Our new, updated program includes opportunities to volunteer in the community so you can practice your English skills with Americans. In addition, you can further improve your skills by reading, watching and creating your own news stories and plays.

  • Take 10 hours of Intensive English a week based on your skill level
  • Take 10 hours of an elective class in mixed levels
  • Elective classes include topics such as TV, novels, current events, travel, drama, and volunteering

“After studying English (IEP) at Green River for a year, I then studied another 2 years in the academic program. In 2013, I transferred to UC Berkeley. I am now pursuing further education at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the #1 School of veterinary medicine in the world. I cannot describe how much I appreciate Green River College. I would not have been able to make it this far without my time at GRC.”
