Candidate Selection Process:
Selection is based on the following system (not in order of priorities):
- Grades in pre-requisites, cumulative college GPA (past 5 years), and grades in supporting courses
- Job shadowing
- Essay score
- Related work experience
- Students assume all responsibility for reading and following instructions
Candidates who meet the requirements (academically, job shadow, and essay) are offered a contingency acceptance into the program. Once offered a contingency spot in program, the candidate will receive information regarding the second step of the selection process is completion of a National Background Check and completion of a Washington State Patrol Background Check. Any student who applies while taking or plan to take remaining pre-prerequisite, will not get a final acceptance until passing of that specific course.
Note that a felony conviction may affect a student’s ability to be placed in fieldwork site which is required to complete the requirements of the degree and affect the graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain licensure. Students must complete Level II fieldwork within 18 months following completion of the didactic portion of the program.
