Ceremony Registration

The deadline for the 2021 Commencement Ceremony registration is Monday, May 31, 2021 at 10 p.m.
Eligible students will receive multiple emails with registration information.

Caps, Gowns and Tassels

Due to the circumstances created by the global pandemic, the Paper Tree Bookstore is experiencing delays in receiving these items from its vendors. However, the Paper Tree will have caps & gowns available for purchase the last week of May.

  • Caps & gowns are sold as a package set.
  • Graduation announcements, thank you cards, diploma frames, and diploma covers are available for purchase.
  • Announcements are sold individually, thank you cards are 25 to a box. Name cards may also be ordered now.

Please make your order using the Bookstore Online Order site. Please choose Shipping to ensure proper social distancing. Bookstore hours are 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. for in store pickup.

Student Commencement Speaker

  • You could be Green River’s 2020-21 Commencement Ceremony student speaker! The 2020-21 Commencement Speaker application is now available! To be considered, please fill out the Commencement Speaker Application by Friday, April 30 at 4:00pm PST. If you have any questions, please contact Dan Fergueson (email: dfergueson@greenriver.edu). 

Leadership and Service Awards

  • You could be selected to receive a Student Leadership and Service award!
    The 2020-21 Student Leadership and Service Awards application will be available soon. To be considered, applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on May 7. If you have any questions, please contact Shirley Quenga (email: squenga@greenriver.edu)

In Honor of Our Military Personnel

Green River College recognizes its graduates, faculty, staff and administrators for their military service to our country. A red, white, and blue military service cord will be available for graduates, faculty, staff and administrators who meet the eligibility requirements and wish to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Eligibility: Any graduating student, faculty, staff and administrator who are presently serving or who served in the military service. Any graduating student who has been accepted into a military service delayed entry program.

If you are graduating and have served in the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy), National Guard, and/or the Reserves and wish to be recognized, please contact Jackie Easley (jeasley@greenriver.edu). Those who notify Jackie will be added to the military service recognition list and will have a veteran’s symbol placed next to their name in the 2021 Commencement Program. Students participating in the commencement ceremony will be mailed a red, white, and blue military service cord to the address submitted on the Intent to Graduate form. Please notify Jackie Easley (jeasley@greenriver.edu) no later than May 21, 2021.

Photography

Graduate portraits are normally provided on site on the day of the commencement ceremony. However, due to social distancing requirements, on-site photography will not be offered on the day of the ceremony.

Depending on the directives from Governor Inslee, Darel Roa Photography may still be able to provide graduates with portraits to commemorate your accomplishments.
