Running Start at Green River College

Running Start is an exciting and nationally recognized option that allows high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college courses tuition-free. Credits earned at Green River are transferable to most four-year colleges and universities, and can satisfy high school graduation requirements. Students may attend classes at Green River full-time or part-time, depending on high school enrollment. Learn more by viewing our information session video here. The Running Start staff are dedicated to supporting Running Start students' education at Green River College. Students can seek advising for course placement, educational planning, transfer planning and other needs. We offer support through various formats and programs such as orientations, appointments, workshops, email and social media.

Frequently asked questions for future students, current students, and parents/guardians

Green River is upgrading to a new computer system to better serve students. In order for this transition to happen:

  • All financial aid adjustments need to be completed by Friday, September 24th. This includes requests for loans and any adjustments to aid based on schedule changes
  • The Financial Aid office will be closed to the public and unavailable to answer questions from October 1st to October 28th
  • Financial Aid will be unable to send money to BankMobile or directly to students from September 28th through October 28th
